Disaster Recovery allows businesses to continue to receive incoming phone calls in the event of a disaster, such as a power outage or PBX system failure.   The Disaster Recovery feature is pre-programmed during installation so it automatically activates when it detects that the system is offline.  And since it is pre-programmed, there is nothing the end user has to do to enable the functionality– it just works–ensuring that your company will never lose an important phone call.

business disaster recovery feature for cloud phone systems and sip trunks

Disaster Recovery will keep your phone service operable during a power outage, internet outage, or phone system failure.

For customers utilizing our VoIP technology, such as a Cloud Phone System or SIP Trunking phone service, Disaster Recovery is included for no extra cost. Depending on the type of VoIP phone service or system your business deploys, the Disaster Recovery feature will function differently, as notated below.

Disaster Recovery & Cloud Phone Systems

The Disaster Recovery feature for our Cloud Phone System is quite robust, even upholding your Auto Attendant during an outage.  The actual failover of the service happens at the extension level and provides a plethora of routing options including but not limited to, voice mailboxes, ring groups, conference hubs, auto attendants, user extensions, outside numbers, or call queues.

Disaster Recovery & SIP Trunks

If your business utilizes an IP phone system with SIP Trunking phone service, then the Disaster Recovery feature will automatically failover to one, pre-programmed outside number (normally a cell phone number).  Companies can also pre-program ring groups and manually forward calls to a group of individuals in seconds via their online portal.  Groups and forwarding numbers can be changed at any time, within seconds.
