Have You Reviewed Your e911 Information Lately?

With the holidays behind us, it’s a great time to review your e911 addresses and alerts to ensure all emergency information is current.

With the passage of the two important pieces of legislation — Kari’s Law and Ray Baum’s Act — the FCC has established uniform federal standards for businesses to eliminate a prefix when dialing 911, and to provide precise “dispatchable location” information within telecommunications systems.  This also includes internal notifications to on-site employees to assist in an emergency response.

It is recommended to implement e911 practices into your onboard- and off boarding of personnel.  Should a key member of your team resign, their email address and phone number should be updated immediately in regards to e911 settings.

ACC’s VoIP systems are already fully compliant with both laws, but as a reminder, please update or alert ACC Telecom to any changes associated with your e911 address(es) or POCs.

Download this guide and e911 checklist to learn what these laws mean for your business and how to stay compliant.
